Archery Event Extends Foley Contract Through 2031

Foley, Ala. — (OBA) — The Archery Shooter’s Association and Foley Sports Tourism are maintaining their successful partnership. The two organizations have signed a five-year extension to keep the nationally recognized Hoyt/Easton Pro/Am tournament in Foley through 2031. Leaders say the decision continues a relationship that has brought significant economic and community benefits to the area. The event has become one of the most popular stops on the ASA tour and a highlight for both competitors and fans.

The upcoming tournament will take place from February 19 to 21, with new activities planned to improve the visitor experience. The annual Pro/Am, held at Graham Creek Nature Preserve and the Foley Event Center, attracts thousands of archers, spectators, and families to the Gulf Coast region each year.

Last year, the event received a Sports Destination Management Champions of Economic Impact Award after generating $1.7 million and over 2,300 room nights for the Foley area. That success followed a record-breaking attendance in 2024. ASA President Josh Grine credited the city’s facilities and hospitality for making Foley such a suitable location.

Extending the contract was an easy decision for ASA. Foley is our premier event site,” Grine said. “Between the teams at Graham Creek, the Foley Event Center, and Foley Sports Tourism, the support in Foley is exceptional.

Grine said the relationships built over the years have become more than just business partnerships. “Over the years, these partnerships have evolved into lasting friendships, and we genuinely look forward to returning to Foley each season,” he said. “The local community, including hotels, restaurants, and other businesses, is among the best we work with throughout the year. Shooters, sponsors, and ASA staff all look forward to this event annually, and for many, it remains the highlight of the Pro/Am Tour.”

City of Foley Executive Director of Leisure Services David Thompson said the extension reflects the success of the collaboration for both parties. “ASA has been an invaluable partner to Foley Sports Tourism for more than a decade,” Thompson said. “They understand our mission of giving visitors an unforgettable experience that will have them coming back again and again.”

This year’s event will feature a new addition for the public—a kick-off party designed to bring residents and visitors together. The celebration will be held at the Foley Event Center on February 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and will include food, games, and a blind-draw cornhole tournament with cash prizes.

“The kick-off party was organized for several reasons,” Grine explained. “It has been nearly seven months since the ASA community last came together, and this event offers an opportunity to reconnect and start the new season. We also hope the event helps the City of Foley by encouraging attendees to stay local and visit nearby shops and restaurants.”

Thompson said the new event invites residents to interact with the visiting archers who return each year. “This party is a chance for our residents, who have been so welcoming to these competitors for so long, to now experience how welcoming those visitors can be in return,” he said. “The ASA community is one of a kind and always looking to bring new people not just into their sport but into their archery family.”
