Orange Beach Kid's Park

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) —  Families and children will soon have access to a popular local playground once again. Crews have been working on site improvements to make the play space more comfortable for everyone. Progress on the scheduled park upgrades is steady. Visitors can return to enjoy the play equipment.

The Edward H. Carroll Sr. Kids Park Playground is now expected to reopen on Tuesday, August 18. Officials announced the timeline as current construction milestones are reached. Families can plan to visit the grounds.

Support poles for the new shade sails are nearing completion on site. It will be a few more weeks before workers install the shade covers. These structures will provide protection from the hot summer sun.

Park officials noted that the facility will need another brief operational break later. The Kids Park will have to temporarily close again when the sails are ready for installation.

Staff expressed regret for the disruption to visiting families during the project. Officials stated, "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause." Guest safety remains the top priority during construction.

Community leaders expressed eagerness to complete the Playground upgrades soon. Leaders stated, "We look forward to getting the much-needed shade sails in place as soon as possible."

The added shade covers will provide families with relief from the heat while visiting. Further updates on the upcoming temporary closure will be shared once crews set the final installation dates.
