Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) — Officers with the Gulf Shores Police Department arrested a 16-year-old boy Monday morning after a suspicious vehicle report led to the discovery of a stolen truck. The incident began when police responded to a call about a damaged truck in the 18000 block of Pine Acres Road. Witnesses told officers that the driver’s side door was open and that a man had jumped out, running toward another vehicle nearby. Police quickly began searching the area, using a K9 unit and help from neighbors who spotted the teen.

The call came in around 7:32 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025. According to police, the pickup truck had been reported stolen earlier from Robertsdale. As officers set up a perimeter, residents shared information about the suspect and said their own cars had been broken into overnight. Investigators began linking the suspect to multiple thefts in the area.

Just 27 minutes later, at 7:59 a.m., officers located the suspect on County Road 8. Police said the teen surrendered without incident after being confronted by officers and the K9 unit. He was later identified as a 16-year-old male from Robertsdale and now faces several felony charges.

Authorities said the charges include Possession of Stolen Property and Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. The teen was transported to a juvenile detention facility as the case continues to be reviewed. Officers added that the investigation remains ongoing as they look into other possible thefts from vehicles in the same area.

Gulf Shores Police thanked residents for their quick response and willingness to help. They said information from community members played an important role in identifying the suspect and bringing the situation under control quickly. The department also noted that cooperation between residents and law enforcement continues to be vital in keeping the community safe.
