Original Songs Take Center Stage at LuLu’s for the Youth Songwriter Showcase

Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) — The Frank Brown International Foundation for Music & Songwriters' Festival is giving young musicians a chance to shine at Lucy Buffett's Lulu's in Gulf Shores. Teen songwriters throughout the region can now apply for the FBISF Youth Showcase, which celebrates original music written and performed by high school students. The competition offers cash prizes and a rare opportunity for young artists to perform at one of the area's most popular venues. Winners will also get valuable exposure in front of festival judges and music industry professionals.

The Youth Showcase takes place on Wednesday, November 12th, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Young musicians who want to participate must submit their applications through the festival's official website.

The competition is open to songwriters aged 18 and under who are currently enrolled in high school. Only solo performers can apply, meaning duos and groups are not eligible for this particular showcase. All musical genres are welcome, from country and rock to pop and hip-hop.

Applicants need to meet several important requirements to be considered. They must bring their own instruments and perform without additional accompaniment from other musicians. Each performer needs to have at least three original songs that they wrote themselves, though instrumental pieces are also acceptable.

A panel of experienced festival judges will review all applications and select the showcase participants. The judges will focus primarily on songwriting skill when making their decisions. However, they will also consider each applicant's performance ability and stage presence.

The foundation will contact selected songwriters directly with scheduling details and performance times. Those chosen will get the chance to showcase their talents in front of an audience at Lulu's.

The competition features three cash prizes for the top performers. First place receives $500, second place gets $250, and third place earns $150.

The first-place winner receives an additional special opportunity beyond the cash prize. That winner will be invited back to perform as a paid artist during the 2026 Frank Brown International Songwriters' Festival. This invitation gives the young winner professional performing experience and exposure at a major regional music event.

Interested students can find the application and complete details at
frankbrownsongwriters.com. The website provides all necessary information about submission requirements and deadlines.
