Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) —  The Gulf Shores Police Department has named Officer G. Scott its Officer of the Month for July. Scott was selected based on a letter of recommendation from his supervisors, which highlighted a busy, productive month of law enforcement activity. His supervisors praised his professionalism, strong work ethic, and dedication to proactive policing.

According to the department, Scott completed 131 calls for service in July 2026. He also logged 71 self-initiated activities, made five arrests — three of which were felonies — and conducted 43 vehicle stops. In addition, he completed 35 foot patrols and filed 14 offense reports during that period.

Several key incidents defined Scott's month. He arrested a non-compliant sex offender after a beachfront investigation. He also worked with partner agencies to recover a stolen wallet, earning a commendation from the victim's family. In another series of cases, Scott identified multiple individuals with outstanding felony warrants, leading to several arrests.

His supervisors noted that those cases accounted for only part of his work that month. Scott continued to pursue investigations beyond what initial reports required. He successfully closed multiple cases that might otherwise have remained open.

The Gulf Shores Police Department congratulated Scott on the recognition. His supervisors described his July performance as exceptional. The department said his consistent commitment to thorough, proactive policing set him apart from his peers that month.
