Less than 25 chair back stadium seats remain for 2025

Perdido Beach Resort Becomes Diamond Sponsor of Orange Beach City Schools

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Community support for Orange Beach City Schools has reached record levels. As the 2025-2026 school year draws closer, fewer than 25 stadium chair back seats remain. Over 200 of the 223 seats have already been claimed by sponsors. Reserved gym seating for basketball and volleyball is also going fast.

As of May 12, nearly 40 individuals and businesses have pledged over $400,000. These funds support academics, arts, and athletics at the new school facilities. The sponsorship drive began just two months ago and continues to grow rapidly.

Five Diamond-Level Sponsors have each given $50,000 or more. These sponsors include:

  • Buffalo Rock
  • CoastAL Orange Beach
  • Perdido Beach Resort
  • The Wharf
  • City of Orange Beach

Many more have joined as Platinum, Gold, and Silver sponsors.

Superintendent Randy Wilkes thanked all supporters. He said this effort is about more than seats or scoreboards. It's about creating lasting opportunities and school pride for students and the entire community.

The school system and the Makos Academics, Arts and Athletics Club (MAAAC) hope to reach $500,000 in sponsorships. That’s part of a larger $700,000 fundraising goal. The rest will come from events like the MAAAC Gala, the Orange Beach Seafood Festival, Freedom Fest, and the Mako Masters golf tournament.

Wilkes encouraged community members to act fast to reserve remaining seats or become sponsors.

The central office at 4554 Orange Beach Blvd. is open for in-person reservations on Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. More details are available on the school’s website or by contacting Alyssa Cherney at (251) 424-1730 or
