New Football Program Coming to Orange Beach for Kids
The League features options for ages 8 to 13 and cheerleading for ages 9 to 12

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Orange Beach is launching a new youth football league this fall to help young players grow their skills and love for the game. Supported by the City of Orange Beach and Mayor Tony Kennon, the league offers full-contact football for ages 10 to 13 and a developmental program for kids ages 8 and 9. Cheerleading is also available for children ages 9 to 12. The league aims to provide a fun and competitive environment for young athletes to learn the fundamentals of football and develop their skills.
Registration is open from May 1 through May 18. The fee for contact football is $100, while developmental football and cheer each cost $25. A mandatory player/parent meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 19 at 5:30 p.m., during which uniform fittings will also take place. The City provides players with helmets, shoulder pads, game pants, and game jerseys. Players will need to supply practice pants, practice jerseys, mouthpieces, and rubber football cleats.
The contact league will feature 6-on-6 football, with teams consisting of 10 players each. Practices are set for Monday and Thursday evenings, and games will be held on Tuesday evenings. The season kicks off with player evaluations on August 11 and concludes on October 7. The Orange Beach High School (OBHS) football coaching staff will conduct the evaluations and be actively involved throughout the season, offering guidance and mentorship to players and coaches alike.
For cheerleading, participants will cheer during the fall 2025 youth football season from September through mid-November at the Orange Beach Sportsplex and surrounding parks within Baldwin County. Practices are usually held once or twice per week, with most games taking place on Saturdays. Participants will learn cheers and halftime routines. When available, cheer squads will cheer for teams in their corresponding age groups; if needed, all ages can be combined to form cheer squads.
