Council votes to keep the meeting schedule on the first and third Tuesdays

Orange Beach City Council Begins New Term

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Orange Beach welcomed its new City Council during a swearing-in ceremony held at the Orange Beach Community Center. The event brought together council members, their families, and community residents for the official start of the new four-year term. Following the ceremony, attendees gathered for the monthly Community Potluck, which doubled as a meet-and-greet opportunity. The informal reception allowed residents to connect with their newly sworn council representatives.


The swearing-in ceremony took place on Monday, November 3. Two judges presided over the official proceedings. The Honorable Johana A. Bucci, Mobile County District Judge, and the Honorable Michael A. Dasinger, Orange Beach Municipal Judge, conducted the ceremonies.

During an organizational meeting, council members made their first official decision. Councilman Jerry Johnson received unanimous support from his colleagues to serve as Chairman Pro Tem. Johnson will hold this leadership position alongside his role representing Place 3.


The new council includes both returning members and fresh faces. Mayor Tony Kennon will continue leading the city. Jerry Johnson and Jeff Silvers also retained their seats on the council.


Three new members join the governing body. Jack Robertson will represent Place 1, replacing Annette Mitchell. Ginger Harrelson takes over Place 2, succeeding Jeff Boyd. Robert Stuart II fills the Place 5 seat previously held by Joni Blalock.


City officials expressed gratitude to the outgoing council members. Mitchell, Boyd, and Blalock received thanks for their dedicated service to Orange Beach. Their contributions helped shape the city during their time in office.


The new council voted to maintain the existing meeting schedule. Council meetings will continue on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Sessions begin at 5 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Orange Beach City Hall.
