Police enforce strict alcohol laws as Spring Break kicks off

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Gulf Shores Police Department has released its arrest report for the first week of Spring Break 2025, spanning from March 1 to March 7. The report details a total of 12 Spring Break-related bookings and an additional nine non-Spring Break-related arrests.


Spring Break-Related Arrests

Authorities arrested 12 individuals for Spring Break-related incidents, resulting in a total of 13 charges. The most common offenses included alcohol-related violations and driving under the influence.


The breakdown of Spring Break-related arrests is as follows:

  • Domestic Violence (Assault) – 1
  • Drugs - Synthetic Narcotics – 1
  • DUI Alcohol (.08 BAC or more) – 3
  • Minor in Possession of Alcohol – 5
  • Underage Purchase/Consumption/Possession of Alcohol – 2
  • Violation of a Domestic Violence Protection Order – 1


Non-Spring Break-Related Arrests

While the majority of the reported arrests were linked to Spring Break activities, Gulf Shores Police also reported nine additional arrests unrelated to the influx of seasonal visitors.


These non-Spring Break-related arrests included:

  • All Other Arrests – 2
  • Drug Paraphernalia – 2
  • DUI Alcohol (.08 BAC or more) – 1
  • Ignition Interlock Violation – 1
  • Ordinance - Lodging or Camping in Vehicles Outdoors – 1
  • Warrant - Failure to Appear (Misdemeanor) – 3


Enforcement and Safety Measures

Local law enforcement continues to emphasize safety during the busy Spring Break season, with increased patrols and strict enforcement of alcohol and drug laws. Officers are also on high alert for violations such as underage drinking, DUI offenses, and public disturbances.


Authorities urge visitors and residents to be mindful of local laws and act responsibly to ensure a safe and enjoyable Spring Break experience in Gulf Shores.
