Foley High School Hires Former Opelika Coach Bryan Moore
Principal Jessica Webb Said A Multi State Search Led To The Board Approved Hire
Foley, Ala. — (OBA) — Foley High School has a new head football coach. The job is going to Bryan Moore. He previously led the football program at Opelika. School leaders said he was approved by the Baldwin County Board of Education.
The decision was announced on January 7, 2026. The school board approved Moore after Foley High School principal Jessica Webb recommended him. Foley High School is part of Baldwin County Public Schools, according to the release.
School officials said Moore has been a head coach for 11 years. They reported he has a 79% career winning percentage. The release listed coaching stops at Eufaula, Jasper, Hartselle, and Opelika.
Moore’s teams have won numerous Region Championships. His teams reached the playoffs every season. School officials said he led the 2025 7A Opelika team to its first-ever State Championship game appearance.
Moore was recognized for his work in 2025. The release said Around the State Sports honored him as Alabama’s 7A Coach of the Year for the 2025 season.
“There was a lot of interest in this position,” Webb said. She said the search was extensive and included candidates across multiple states.
Webb said Moore stood out during the search. “Coach Moore’s reputation and body of work stood out and best aligned with the qualities, expectations, and rich traditions of our school and our city,” she said. She also called Foley “a wonderful place to live.”
Foley High School athletic director Metta Christensen highlighted Moore’s record. “Coach Moore’s record (105-28) as a head football coach places him among Alabama’s most successful active head coaches,” Christensen said. “He’s won everywhere he’s been.”
Christensen also described his coaching style. “He demands discipline and commitment, and he knows how to make it fun and exciting for the players,” Christensen said. She said the school is excited to have him join the staff.
“My wife Lindsey and I are incredibly excited for the opportunity to come to Foley and invest in such a special community,” Moore said. “Our goal has always been to win championships and, more importantly, develop championship people.”
“We will work relentlessly every day to build something the entire Foley community can be proud of. Go Lions!” Moore said. The release said Moore replaces Deric Scott, who served as the Lions’ head coach for the past six seasons.
