Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) — The Gulf Shores Police Department had a very busy year keeping residents and visitors safe. Officers responded to nearly 34,000 calls for service throughout 2025. The department also made hundreds of arrests and conducted thousands of traffic stops. These numbers indicate the scale of the work required to police a coastal community that attracts tourists from across the country.

The statistics cover the full year from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025. During this time, police handled 33,958 total law enforcement calls. That’s an average of just over 93 calls per day. They also responded to 498 animal-related calls separately.

Officers made 1,539 arrests during the year. Adult arrests numbered 1,471, while juvenile arrests totaled 68. The department filed 348 felony charges against suspects. Misdemeanor charges were much higher at 2,608.

Drug enforcement remained a priority for the department in 2025. Police made 534 drug-related arrests throughout the year. Officers also arrested 254 people for driving under the influence. Underage drinking was another concern for Gulf Shores police. Officers made 235 arrests for underage possession of alcohol.

Traffic enforcement was a major part of the department's work. Officers conducted 8,484 traffic stops during 2025. They issued 1,511 citations to drivers who broke traffic laws. Another 402 traffic and other charges were also filed.

Officers arrived at these scenes in an average of 3 minutes and 36 seconds. The fastest response time was only 1 second, while the longest was 7 minutes and 59 seconds.
