Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) —  A popular annual Gulf Coast race is gearing up for its 13th year of raising money and awareness for prostate cancer. The Simon Says Run will once again draw runners and walkers to the Flora-Bama Ole River Grill for a 5.8k course. The event supports the Prostate Cancer Foundation, the leading philanthropic organization funding and accelerating prostate cancer research globally. Since its first race in 2014, Simon Says Run has raised well over $125,000 for the cause.

The 13th Annual Simon Says 5.8k Run/Walk for Prostate Cancer Awareness is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, with a 7:30 a.m. start. Entry fees are $30 through September 17 and increase to $35 at packet pickup on September 18 and 19. Participants can register online at active.com. 

The race begins in front of the Flora-Bama Ole River Grill, heads west to the Perdido Pass Bridge, then loops back. For those who want to participate but cannot attend in person, a virtual option is also available. Chance drawings will be held after the race.

Registered participants will enjoy a post-race party at the Flora-Bama River Grill featuring burgers and beer. Last year's event alone raised $11,500 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Simon Says Run is structured so that 100% of participant entry fees go directly to the PCF.
