Third Annual Business Event Kid-Run Businesses To Open Across Coastal Alabama
Young entrepreneurs will showcase skills learned through chamber workshops

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — The third annual Coastal Alabama Kid Entrepreneurs Day is returning to local communities very soon. This special event is also known as C.A.K.E. Day. Elementary students have spent months preparing to open their own businesses to the public. These young people are excited to showcase the hard work they have put in.
The Coastal Alabama Business Chamber organized the program for Saturday, May 9, 2026. On that day, students will set up their shops at various locations in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. They learned about branding, marketing, and finance during several workshops held before the event.
Mayors Tony Kennon and Robert Craft issued special proclamations to help make the event possible. These officials want to see the youth in the community succeed. One highlight of the day is celebrating America 250 with patriotic stand decorations. Volunteer judges will select the best-decorated stand for an award.
Greg Alexander is the President and CEO of the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber. He spoke about the effort the students put into their new companies. "The creativity these students have shown towards the program is incredible," Alexander said. Many children even designed their own logos.
Some students started social media pages to promote their products. Others submitted full business plans to the chamber. These students have worked hard on every detail. Some will sell 3D-printed toys or handmade jewelry. Other stands will offer fresh lemonade and baked goods.
Residents can find these young business owners at places like The Wharf and Gulf State Park Pier. Many shops will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Supporting these students helps them learn how to run a business. It is a great way to support the future leaders of Baldwin County.
The program was made possible by several sponsors, including Baldwin EMC. Columbia Southern University and Volkert also helped the chamber put on the event. People can find a full list of locations on the chamber website. This ensures no one misses out on the fun products.
