Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) —  Orange Beach City Schools has announced two public budget hearings for its Fiscal Year 2027 budget. The hearings are open to parents, staff, and community members. District leaders will present a detailed overview of the proposed budget at both sessions. The meetings are intended to give the public a closer look at how the school system plans to spend its funds.

The first public budget hearing is scheduled for Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the Orange Beach Performing Arts Center. The second hearing will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, immediately after the Board Work Session. The work session begins at 4:30 p.m. that evening.

The September 10 hearing will be held in the Board Conference Room at the Orange Beach Board of Education Office. Both events offer residents the opportunity to learn about the district's financial priorities and planned investments. Orange Beach City Schools was established in 2022 and serves students in the Orange Beach community.

At each hearing, district leadership will review anticipated revenues, expenditures, and funding priorities for the coming fiscal year. The presentation is intended to help community members understand how budget decisions are made and what drives them. Attendance is open to the public, and no registration is required.

Orange Beach City Schools Superintendent Randy Wilkes leads the district, which is governed by a five-member board. Board members include President Randy McKinney, Vice President Shannon Robinson, Lisa Nix, Stephen Lewis, and Clay Tindal. The board plays a key role in approving the final budget each year.
