The snapper season has now been extended to a seven-day operational period per week until the private angler sector meets its designated quota. Anglers are encouraged to capitalize on this opportunity, as the bag limit remains at two snappers per person, with each specimen restricted to a maximum length of 16 inches. Charter fishing options vary widely, catering to different preferences with trip durations starting from four hours to overnight excursions. To escape the typical crowds, consider an early-week trip with some of the premier family-owned enterprises in Orange Beach (OBA). Zeke’s Marina boasts the largest fleet on the Gulf Coast and hosts some of the most reputable local charter companies. Among these is the Annie Girl, helmed by Captain Mike, where anglers target snapper while also having the chance to pursue a variety of species. As Captain Mike puts it, any fish inhabiting the Gulf is a potential catch. Whether it's larger pelagics like tuna and sharks or deep-sea species such as swordfish, the Annie Girl is poised to deliver a remarkable fishing adventure. Aboard, anglers enjoy amenities including a spacious salon for relaxation, three well-appointed state rooms for napping, and a galley where they can engage with the crew about the day's catch, all while watching satellite TV. The Annie Girl combines comfort, style, and operational efficiency, making it ideal for both day trips and overnight adventures. Additionally, Zeke’s Marina features Fairwater II Charters operated by Captain Tom. This option enables guests to embark on private cruises or join shared excursions ranging from half-day to full-day trips, targeting species such as Wahoo, King Mackerel, and Grouper. As a family-run business, Fairwater II is committed to ensuring every participant has an exceptional experience, leaving with memorable fishing narratives. Don't hesitate; book your expedition now to discover the excitement surrounding the snapper season while enjoying the invigorating Gulf waters.

The back bay islands of Orange Beach have recently undergone significant ecological and infrastructure enhancements, revitalizing areas that had previously declined over the years and effectively revealing what most will claim as a newly emerged island. However, it's actually a comeback island. These alterations are apparent from both terrestrial and aquatic perspectives; however, aerial reconnaissance provides a markedly different vantage point. What initially appears to be diminutive in scale when viewed at ground level uncovers substantial expansions of certain landforms, alongside a clearer delineation of connected landmasses. These recent upgrades justify the need for aerial surveys and offer a comprehensive view of the entire 32-mile island chain, enhancing our understanding of its geographical and ecological dynamics. Lost Bay Helicopters provides a range of flight services, from private excursions to professional applications, and also facilitates skydiving events. This caters to thrill-seekers who can experience the breathtaking topography and hydrology of the coastal ecosystem while descending towards the idyllic sands, culminating in an adrenaline-fueled experience over the renowned emerald waters. Try something new and exciting and book a flight with Lost Bay today, you won’t regret it.
