Sign Up for Orange Beach's Public Safety Academy before June 7th

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The Orange Beach Police and Fire Departments are inviting citizens to join the 2024 Citizens' Public Safety Academy. The academy, scheduled from July 1 to August 12, 2024, aims to enhance understanding and cooperation between the community and emergency services. 


Classes, which are free of charge, will take place on Monday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.


Participants will gain insight into various aspects of police and fire operations. The curriculum includes:

  • Patrol Operations
  • Narcotics, Investigations
  • Police Records
  • Dispatch
  • Officer Training Program
  • Traffic / DUI Enforcement
  • School Resource Officer Program
  • Marine Division, Vehicle Extrication Demo
  • Medical Response Demo
  • Surf Rescue and Apparatus Display 


The sessions will be hosted at:

  • Orange Beach Police Department, 4480 Orange Beach Blvd., Orange Beach
  • Orange Beach Fire Station No. 3, 23584 Canal Road, Orange Beach


Interested individuals must be at least 18 years old and will undergo a background check. Applications are available at the police department, and potential participants should contact Sergeant Joey Brown or Officer Alissa Jacques to apply by June 7, 2024.
