Holiday Kickoff Planned in Downtown Foley With Evening Event

Foley, Ala. — (OBA) — Downtown Foley is inviting residents to come downtown for an evening of shopping, lights, and community. The upcoming Third Thursday event is positioned as a simple way to start holiday preparations. Organizers say visitors will find unique gifts and welcoming specials from merchants. The night also offers a first look at the festive glow downtown.

The date is set for Thursday, November 20, 2025. Hours run from 5 to 7 p.m. The event takes place throughout Downtown Foley in Foley.

Leaders say the gathering is designed to make holiday errands enjoyable and easy. Shoppers can browse independent boutiques and local shops for one-of-a-kind items. The goal is to help people find personal gifts that stand apart from big box offerings. Families and friends can stroll as the streets begin to sparkle with early seasonal lights.

Executive Director Darrelyn Dunmore encouraged residents to explore what is new downtown. She said shopping local brings more thoughtful choices for gift-giving. She also emphasized that spending downtown helps the local economy and supports entrepreneurs. Dunmore noted that several merchants will offer enticing specials for the occasion.

Participating businesses plan to roll out promotions and discounts during the evening. Some will feature exclusive offers available only for the event hours. Organizers describe it as a chance to snag a timely find while supporting the heart of Foley. The atmosphere aims to spark holiday spirit without the stress.

The Third Thursday tradition serves as a community touchpoint before the busy season. Visitors can take their time, check off early gifts, and enjoy the lights. The event is open to all with no admission required. Parking and navigation follow normal downtown options.

Downtown Foley leaders hope the November date helps residents begin the season on a cheerful note. They frame the evening as a friendly alternative to crowded weekend shopping. The focus remains on local flavor, service, and memorable finds. Organizers expect a welcoming, walkable pace throughout the district.
