Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) — Community members concerned about scams and fraud will soon have an opportunity to hear directly from law enforcement experts. A free seminar will be held in Gulf Shores where federal, state, and local officials will discuss current schemes and how to avoid them. Organizers say the event is designed to give residents practical steps to safeguard their money and personal information. Attendees will also receive resources they can take home for future reference.

The seminar is scheduled for Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. It will take place at the Gulf Shores Activity Center, located at 260 Clubhouse Drive. The program is open to the public and does not require registration in advance.

Officials plan to cover the most common scams that have appeared throughout 2025. That includes schemes spreading through phone calls, suspicious emails, and social media. A live question-and-answer session with investigators will allow residents to raise concerns specific to their own experiences.

Participants will receive printed materials, including checklists, emergency contact numbers, and guides for recognizing red flags. These resources are meant to give residents a simple way to remember the advice once they return home. The event also offers a chance to meet neighbors who may have dealt with similar challenges.

Organizers say the goal is to help people stay one step ahead of identity thieves and con artists. The program is not just about warnings but about empowering residents with strategies they can use right away. Law enforcement hopes the seminar can reduce the number of fraud victims in the area.
