Industrial Park access and Chicago Street improvements set

Foley City Hall

Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – Foley’s city council will discuss three projects looking to improve traffic and access on James Record Road, Chicago Street, the entrance to the Foley Industrial Park and Wilson Avenue and Equestrian Street work. On James Record Road, the council will consider hiring Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood to complete a topography study on extending James Record south from Brinks Road to the city limits of Gulf Shores. That project is expected to cost about $16,000.

The council will meet Nov. 17 at 4 p.m. in council chambers at city hall.

According to Daisha Barnes of the Engineering Department a “shift in the (right-of-way) causing an update in the design parameter and the proposal for the delineating of all water resources.”

On Chicago Street, the council will consider paying $44,000 to JADE Consulting to design streetscape improvements. At the Foley Industrial Park, the city will pay Thompson Engineering $260,000 for field survey and design for two roads including a roundabout and two-lane access road from Doc McDuffie Road.
