Pop-Up Farmers Market Showcases Gulf Coast Vendors

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) —  Fresh produce, handmade foods, and local vendors will gather at Waterfront Park in Orange Beach for the return of the city’s pop-up farmers market. The Orange Beach Parks and Recreation Department invites residents and visitors to enjoy a day at the park, where they can meet growers and small business owners. Organizers describe the market as a curated selection of farmers, growers, and value-added vendors, offering a wide range of goods. The event is open to the public, and admission is free.

The pop-up farmers market will be held tomorrow, Sunday, April 19, at Waterfront Park, 26425 Canal Road in Orange Beach. The market will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., giving families time to browse booths, enjoy lunch, and relax by the water. City staff describes the event as a laid-back way to support local agriculture and enjoy one of the community’s most scenic parks.

The Parks and Recreation Department states that the pop-up farmers market aims to showcase local farmers, growers, and home producers who offer a variety of products, including fresh fruits, vegetables, and specialty foods. Organizers describe the event as “a curated collection of farmers, growers, and value-added vendors,” each bringing their finest seasonal products to the community. Shoppers can look forward to browsing tables filled with vibrant produce, baked goods, and other homemade items.

Two food and beverage trucks are scheduled to be on site, offering visitors extra options during the market. Anna’s Cafe will serve smoothies, coffee, and sweets to those looking for a quick snack or drink while they shop. Nettie’s Frenchies will also be parked at Waterfront Park, adding another stop for guests who want to grab something to eat before heading back to the vendor tents.

Parking for the market will be available throughout Waterfront Park, giving drivers several places to leave their vehicles close to the action. Extra spaces will be available nearby at the Orange Beach Public Library and the Orange Beach Senior Center for those willing to take a short walk. City officials encourage residents to arrive by golf cart when possible to ease traffic and make the most of the park’s paths.

If bad weather approaches the area, the city has a backup plan to keep the market open. In the case of heavy rain or storms, the pop-up farmers market will move to the Orange Beach Community Center, located at 27235 Canal Road. This indoor location provides vendors and shoppers with a dry, safe place to gather while maintaining a sense of community.

The Parks and Recreation Department is promoting the pop-up farmers market as a chance for people to “support farmers, growers and home processors” while enjoying fresh air and live lawn games. Families are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs, explore the booths, and spend time at the waterfront during the four-hour event. Organizers hope the market becomes a regular stop for locals who want to learn where their food comes from and meet the people who produce it.

This event is part of a larger series of pop-up farmers' markets organized by Orange Beach Parks and Recreation for the season. After the market on April 19 at Waterfront Park, two additional dates are scheduled for later in the year, May 3 and June 7. Details will be shared on the city’s
Facebook page, allowing residents to mark their calendars and plan their visits.
