Allegiant Air Launched New Routes to Gulf Shores International Airport

Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) —  Allegiant Air announces five new nonstop routes from Gulf Shores International Airport this week. The airline is offering promotional one-way fares as low as $40. The new flights connect the Gulf Coast to cities across the South and Midwest. The service offers local travelers new options for summer travel.

Service to Huntsville, Alabama, and Omaha, Nebraska, began on May 21, 2026. Flights to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Louisville, Kentucky; and Springfield, Missouri launched the following day, May 22, 2026.

One-way fares vary by route. The Huntsville route starts at $40, while Omaha fares begin at $67. Oklahoma City tickets start at $44, Louisville at $45, and Springfield at $66.

"We're excited to kick off the summer travel season with five new nonstop routes from Gulf Shores," said Drew Wells, Allegiant's chief commercial officer.

"Whether you're attending a special event, planning a dream vacation, or visiting family and friends, our goal is to connect more travelers to their favorite destinations with Allegiant's award-winning customer service at unbeatable value."

Most of the new routes will operate up to twice a week. The Gulf Shores-to-Oklahoma City route will fly up to three times a week. Schedules, flight times, and the lowest fares are available at

One route holds special meaning for Alabama travelers. The Huntsville-to-Gulf Shores flight is the state's only intrastate commercial airline route. Passengers can now fly between the two cities without leaving Alabama for a connection.

Jesse Fosnaugh, the airport director at Gulf Shores International Airport, called the new routes an exciting milestone. A terminal expansion is also set to begin soon to support the airline's growing nonstop network.

"I am very excited about the start of these routes as we are about to begin construction on our terminal expansion to support Allegiant's growing nonstop network in Gulf Shores," Fosnaugh said.

"The new Huntsville–Gulf Shores route, the only intrastate commercial airline route in Alabama, will be a major win for Alabamians. Instead of a long, tiring drive, you can now travel between the Rocket City and Alabama's Beaches in about an hour."

"I should mention that the fares often cost less than a tank of gas in your vehicle," Fosnaugh added.

Allegiant packages flights with rental cars and hotel deals. Travelers can book a full vacation through the airline's website. The company says its base fares are less than half the average domestic round-trip ticket price.

The introductory fares have purchase deadlines. Huntsville and Omaha tickets must be purchased by May 23, 2026. Tickets for Oklahoma City, Louisville, and Springfield must be purchased by May 24, 2026.

Travel windows also vary by route. Huntsville tickets cover travel through Aug. 13, 2026. Omaha flights are bookable through Aug. 16, 2026. Oklahoma City and Springfield travel runs through Aug. 17, 2026, and Louisville flights end on July 27, 2026.

Fares include taxes, carrier charges, and government fees. Optional baggage charges and other restrictions may apply.
