Senior Wellness Week Brings Free Services and Support to Foley Seniors
Many Local Businesses And Organizations Participate In January Event
Foley, Ala. — (OBA) — South Baldwin seniors will soon have an opportunity to learn more about services designed to support healthy, independent living. Senior Wellness Week is coming to Foley, offering older adults and caregivers a chance to connect with local resources in one convenient setting. The traveling event is hosted by WKRG and focuses on promoting senior well-being across the Gulf Coast. Admission is free and open to the public.
Senior Wellness Week will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Foley Civic Center, located at 407 E. Laurel Ave. The event is designed to highlight programs and services that support seniors' physical health, financial security, safety, and overall quality of life in the community.
Attendees will be able to explore a wide range of information, including aging services for seniors and caregivers, health and wellness programs, and products offered by local businesses. Vendors and organizations will be on hand to answer questions and provide guidance on healthier lifestyles, in-home care, healthcare options, and consumer protection.
The event will also feature entertainment and interactive activities. Participants will have chances to win $25 Greer’s gift cards, and the WKRG Weather Team is scheduled to attend, giving seniors an opportunity to meet the meteorologists and learn more about their work.
A number of community partners are participating, including VIPCare, United Hearing Centers, the Better Business Bureau, Senior Healthcare Brokers, Comfort Keepers, EcoView Windows and Doors, Baldwin Health, Medstar Emergency Services, Alabama Rehabilitation Services, and the Foley Senior Center. Additional participants include the Foley Public Library, Alabama Credit Union, Small’s Mortuary, and Chicken Salad Chick.
Veterans and caregivers are especially encouraged to attend, as many of the services represented are tailored to their specific needs. Organizers say the event is intended to help seniors discover resources they may not have realized were available locally.
