Suspect Arrested After High-Speed Chase Into East Orange Beach
Driver Faced Warrants And Drug Charges After Attempting To Elude Police
Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Orange Beach police officers ended a vehicle pursuit Tuesday evening in East Orange Beach after a brief chase. The incident began with an attempted traffic stop for multiple violations. The driver refused to stop and fled from officers.
The pursuit occurred on Tuesday, January 20. It started near the Foley Beach Express Bridge, then moved into East Orange Beach. Officers followed the suspect through the area until they stopped the vehicle. The chase ended safely with the suspect taken into custody.
The suspect had outstanding warrants from Colorado, authorities said. After the arrest, the individual was charged with felony attempting to elude law enforcement. Additional charges include reckless endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and multiple traffic violations.
Several officers worked together to bring the incident to a safe conclusion. The department credited teamwork and quick decision-making for preventing injuries.
The department said it remains focused on proactive enforcement and public safety. Officers continue to encourage drivers to comply with traffic stops and follow lawful instructions. The department noted that fleeing law enforcement can result in serious charges and dangerous consequences.
