Orange Beach Performing Arts Center Launches First Summer Theatre Camp
Young performers will take the stage in a live production on the final day of camp
Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — The Orange Beach Performing Arts Center is hosting its first-ever summer theatre camp this July. The program, Coastal Spotlight, is open to students ages eight to 13. The camp runs Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event marks a new chapter in youth arts programming for Orange Beach.
The camp runs Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 17, 2026. An orientation meeting for students is also planned for Sunday, July 5, with the time to be announced. Registration for this camp closed on June 1st, but they may plan on an additional camp, depending on interest.
Each morning, campers will take classes that introduce them to the world of theatre. In the afternoons, students choose a role — either acting in the show or working behind the scenes. Behind-the-scenes options include costuming, set building, lighting and audio, prop making, and set crew.
All campers will collaborate on a full-stage production over the two weeks. The show will be performed for parents and guests on Friday, July 17, at 6 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center, 23908 Canal Road, Orange Beach.
Each student will receive a camp t-shirt and two snacks per day. Parents are asked to send their child with lunch and a refillable water bottle each day.
