Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) —  The Gulf Shores City Council will meet to address a packed agenda of municipal resolutions, public infrastructure updates, and local tourism initiatives. The meeting's formal presentations will open with Pastor Jim Kinder of Orange Beach Church, who will deliver the invocation, followed by special recognition from Gulf Shores Fire Rescue honoring Porsha Keller as the Firefighter of the 2nd Quarter.

The regular council meeting takes place this evening, Monday, July 27, 2026, at 4 PM in Gulf Shores City Hall's Council Chambers.

Sports Tourism and Infrastructure Progress

Among the key business items, the council will consider one-year extensions on tri-party agreements with the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) to continue hosting the AHSAA Track & Field Championship and the AHSAA Softball tournaments.

Infrastructure updates are also on the table, including Change Order No. 4 with Harrison Construction regarding the city's pedestrian bridge project. Additionally, the council will review a proposal from The Decor Group, Inc. to handle upcoming holiday decoration services, as well as a bid award to Tek84, Inc. for a new body scanner.

During the regular session, the council will also:

• Consider approving meeting minutes from the Jul 13 Regular Council Meeting, the Jul 20 Work Session, and the Jul 21 Special Work Session.
• Review and approve recent municipal expense vouchers.
• Vote on a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Pleasure Island Revelers Mardi Gras Krewe regarding parade logistics.
• Discuss a resolution authorizing the creation of incentive programs targeted at the Waterway Village Area and the Beach Walking District.
• Hear a first reading on an ordinance authorizing a taxi franchise agreement for Action Taxi, LLC.
• Receive updates during committee and staff reports, followed by an open session for public comments.
