Foley Eyes Zoning, Subdivision Updates in March

Foley City Hall

Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – The Foley Planning Commission will have two meetings in March, a work session on March 13 and a regular session on March 20. The commission will meet at 4 p.m. in council chambers at city hall.


During the meetings, the commission will consider:


  • A request for a six-month extension for Piedmont Companies for Goodwill Gulf Coast at 200 E. Azalea Ave. There is one lot on the 7.6 acres zoned for business and staff recommends approval.
  • Approving a request for a site plan approval for CHS South Baldwin Ambulatory Surgery Center at 1605 N. Alston St. currently zoned as residential. Staff plans to recommend approval.
  • A request for site plan approval for Hickory Street RV and Boat Storage located north and east of Fielding Park Drive and west of South Hickory Street. The 5.4 acres is currently zoned for business and staff will recommend approval.
  • A minor subdivision request for the Riviera and Minto Subdivision on 2.24 acres currently divided into two lots at 198 County Road 20 West. Staff will recommend approval.
  • Approving a resubdivision of the Old Time Pottery subdivision consisting of 1.55 acres and two lots located east of State Route 59 and south of Keller Road. The lots are south of the new Dairy Queen at the corner of Keller Road and State Route 59 and staff will recommend approval.
  • A rezoning request for rezoning 10 acres in the Hidden Meadows subdivision phase two located east of James Road and north of County Road 12. The rezoning will match the zoning of 30 acres in the first phase of Hidden Meadows and any rezoning will have to be approved by the city council. Staff will recommend approval.
  • Another request on the agenda concerning the 30 acres in Hidden Meadows phase one to subdivide 30 acres into 58 lots also located east of James Road and north of County Road 12. Staff will recommend approval.
  • A request from staff to change definitions in the zoning ordinance regarding recreation vehicles, boats and utility trailers.
