Halloween Celebrations Set for the Gulf Coast

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Halloween celebrations along Alabama's Gulf Coast will span nine days this year, from October 24 through 31, with communities from Orange Beach to Perdido Key hosting costume contests, trick-or-treat events and outdoor adventures. The 2025 lineup includes returning favorites like Flora-Bama's cash-prize costume contest and The Wharf's Trunk or Treat, alongside newer offerings such as beach campouts and waterfront trick-or-treating at Zeke's Marina. Events range from family-focused activities in neighborhood communities to late-night parties at local venues.


Most events are free or low-cost, making it easy for families to enjoy multiple celebrations throughout the season. Be sure to check individual event websites for specific details, registration requirements, and any weather-related updates as Halloween approaches.


Friday, October 24

Treasures of the Isle Halloween Costume Party & Drawdown at the Orange Beach Event Center offers an evening of prizes and costumed fun.


Saturday, October 25

The weekend brings multiple celebrations across the coast. Families can enjoy Trick or Treat with Zeke's Fleet (5–10 pm) at Zeke's Marina in Orange Beach, offering a unique maritime twist on traditional trick-or-treating.


Adventure seekers can begin the
Ghouls on the Gulf Beach Campout at Gulf State Park (October 25-26), combining coastal camping with Halloween festivities for a truly memorable overnight experience.


At 7 pm, Big Beach Brewing Company (300 E 24th Ave., Gulf Shores) hosts a spirited
Halloween-night tribute to Ozzy Osborne featuring live sets from The Funky Lampshades, The Family Union & Grits & Greens. Come in costume and support local musician Destiny Brown in her kidney-disease benefit.


Sunday, October 26

Outdoor enthusiasts can participate in the Perdido Key Witches & Werewolves Halloween Paddle Ride at noon, offering a unique way to celebrate the season on the water.


Foley United Methodist Church hosts its Trunk or Treat event (3:00–4:30 pm) at 915 N Pine St in Foley. This free, all-ages event features candy, bouncy houses, and a costume contest at 4:00 pm—perfect for families looking for afternoon Halloween fun.


Pet lovers won't want to miss
Howl-O-Ween at Pirates Cove in Elberta, a dog costume event perfect for four-legged family members.


Monday, October 27

The Coastal Resources Department hosts Treats on the Trail at the Orange Beach Sportsplex Trailhead (4:30–6:30 pm). This family-friendly event features trick-or-treating stations, games, and a s'mores station along the award-winning Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail system, combining Halloween festivities with outdoor recreation.


At 7 pm, Big Beach Brewing Company in Gulf Shores presents a
Halloween-themed Trivia Night—come in costume and test your knowledge for spook-worthy prizes.


Wednesday, October 29

The First Baptist Church of Lillian Fall Festival takes place on October 29 from 5:30 until 7:00pm at the church, located at: 34421 Barclay Ave, Lillian, AL. 


Thursday, October 30

The Wharf hosts its popular Trunk or Treat event at 6 pm, presented by The Island Church, offering a safe alternative for trick-or-treaters.


Friday, October 31

Captain's Cove in Orange Beach transforms into a pedestrian-friendly trick-or-treating paradise. The Orange Beach Police Department closes the front entrance at 5:30 pm to vehicles and golf carts, ensuring a safe experience for children and families. Visitors can park along the service roads or at the boat launch parking lot by the bridge (24253–24323 Gulf Bay Road). Come dressed in your Halloween best and enjoy a classic, small-town Halloween atmosphere by the bay.


Elberta Church Trunk-or-Treat
(6–8 pm) and Lillian Recreational Park Trunk-or-Treat both offer safe, community-centered celebrations.


At 6 pm, Big Beach Brewing Company (300 E 24th Ave., Gulf Shores) hosts a
Halloween Party & Live Music night featuring Spicy Danger—come in costume and raise a glass to the spirit of the season.


The night culminates with
Flora-Bama's legendary Halloween Costume Contest at 9 pm, offering one of the Gulf Coast's biggest cash prizes—$600 for first place, $500 for second, and $400 for third. Registration runs from 6 to 8:30 pm, and anyone in costume gets in free for a night of live music, laughs, and high-energy "Bamily" fun on the Florida-Alabama line.
