Seven-Vehicle Crash on Foley Beach Express Leaves One Dead
Silverado driver airlifted with minor injuries after being pushed into traffic

Foley, Ala. — (OBA) — A massive seven-vehicle accident at a busy Foley intersection left one man dead and sent another driver to the hospital. Police responded to the scene after receiving reports of a serious crash involving multiple vehicles. Officers found extensive damage and began working to piece together what happened. The collision required emergency responders from multiple agencies.
The Foley Police Department got the call around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22. The accident occurred at the intersection of the Foley Beach Express and Highway 98. When officers arrived, they found seven vehicles involved in the wreck.
Police say Ernest Milton Kinsey, 62, from Elberta was driving south on the Beach Express. Investigators determined that Kinsey crossed into the northbound lane for unknown reasons. He struck a Chevrolet Silverado head-on in the opposing lane of traffic.
The force of the impact pushed the Silverado into five other vehicles. Four of the seven vehicles sustained enough damage that they needed to be towed from the scene. The intersection remained blocked for several hours while crews worked to clear the wreckage.
The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado suffered injuries in the crash. Emergency medical personnel decided to airlift that driver to an area hospital. Authorities later reported the Silverado driver's injuries as minor despite the severity of the collision.
Kinsey was also transported to a local hospital for treatment. He later died from his injuries at the hospital. Police have not released information about injuries to any other drivers or passengers involved.
The Foley Police Department continues to investigate the crash. Officers are working to understand what caused Kinsey to cross into oncoming traffic. The investigation remains active as authorities gather more information about the circumstances surrounding the accident.
