Treats on the Trail Event Brings Halloween Fun to Orange Beach Sportsplex
Coastal Resources Department hosts the seasonal tradition at the Sportsplex

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Orange Beach is preparing to welcome families to a Halloween celebration one week from tomorrow (Monday). The Coastal Resources Department will host Treats on the Trail at the Orange Beach Sportsplex Trailhead. This family-friendly event will feature trick-or-treating, games, and refreshments for children and adults. The evening is designed to combine Halloween fun with outdoor recreation in a safe community setting.
The event takes place on Monday, October 27, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The location is the Orange Beach Sportsplex Trailhead at 4385 William Silvers Parkway. The trail will begin at the Orange Beach Sportsplex Trailhead and end at Al's Parkour Park on the Twin Bridges Trail.
This trailhead connects to the award-winning Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail system.
The trail system links parks and neighborhoods throughout Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. The Sportsplex Trailhead serves as a gateway to Twin Bridges and Gulf Oak Ridge trails. Paved paths wind through shaded maritime forest, popular with walkers and cyclists.
Organizers have planned an evening packed with activities for families. Trick-or-treating stations will line the trailhead area where children can collect candy. Multiple game stations will be set up for participants to visit during the two-hour event. A s'mores station will give families a chance to enjoy a treat and rest.
The Coastal Resources Department selected this location to connect families with safe outdoor spaces. The trailhead provides a well-designed area for activity stations with good visibility and foot traffic flow. Parents and guardians can easily walk with children between different stations and activities.
Families can enter the Sportsplex from William Silvers Parkway, off Canal Road, and follow signs to the trailhead. The early evening start time helps families attend after school and work.
The event starts while daylight remains, making it safer for costumed trick-or-treaters. The two-hour window provides enough time for games, candy stops, and refreshments. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to make the most of the activities.
Treats on the Trail represents Orange Beach's commitment to family recreation and conservation education. The city & state maintains the Backcountry Trail system as a community resource for outdoor activity.
More information about the event and the Backcountry Trail system is available on the city's official
website. Location details and trailhead information can be found in the facilities directory. Maps and general trail information are posted on city pages for visitor reference.
