Acquaintances Clash Leads to Stabbing

Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – On the evening of Friday, March 22, 2024, a stabbing incident took place in Foley, Alabama, when the Foley Police Department responded to a call in the 300 block of W. Myrtle Ave. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered Carlos Lopez Martinez with a severe stab wound to his abdomen. Martinez was swiftly transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola for urgent medical attention and is currently in critical condition.


The victim, Carlos Lopez Martinez, was able to identify the perpetrator as Miguel Roque Castillo to detectives and medical staff at the hospital. Subsequently, on March 23, 2024, Miguel Roque Castillo, a 22-year-old individual from Guatemala, was apprehended at the residence where the violent crime took place. In a subsequent interview with detectives, Castillo confessed to stabbing Martinez following an argument. It was revealed that the victim and the offender were acquainted before this tragic event.


Miguel Roque Castillo now faces serious charges of Assault in the First Degree (Felony) as the legal proceedings progress. The Foley Police Department emphasizes that this is an ongoing investigation, hinting that additional charges may be forthcoming as more details are uncovered.
