Mini Golf Planned for Bubba’s Seafood House Property
Six parcels involved in beachside project request

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — A group of four people is planning a new mini-golf course at the site of longtime Bubba’s Seafood House on beach road. John Pilcher, Jody Pilcher, Mary Pilcher and Emmie Pilcher Flowers are making the request. According to Baldwin County tax records, the group owns six parcels fronting the road east of Fat Daddy’s. They will request changes to a previously submitted site plan.
The Orange Beach Planning Commission will hear the request on June 9 at a 3 p.m. work session and a 4 p.m. regular session in council chambers at city hall.
Changes sought include increasing the floor area of the ice cream shop and building a pizza parlor and ticket office.
During the meetings, the council will also discuss:
- A conditional use permit for Mark Keel Construction to build three additional mini-warehouse buildings at 27103 Canal Road or just west of Sam’s Stop N Shop.
- A request from Community Development to change the zoning of a parcel at 28226 Canal Road from commercial center low intensity to neighborhood preservation. Baldwin tax records list the owner of the parcel as Ron Twilley Builders. It is directly west of the entrance to Bayshore Towers.
- A Community Development second request for two parcels on Russian Road to be zoned as civic space. Both are owned by the city, with one parcel having 81 acres and the other 18 acres.
- A site plan review for Mark Keel Construction to build a 3,700-square-foot building at 4318 Lauder Lane.
- A site plan review for a dry boat storage building at Grander Marine at 26754 Canal Road.
