Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Orange Beach first responders answered a serious crash call at Perdido Pass Bridge on Sunday afternoon. Firefighters and police officers found two damaged vehicles. One vehicle was lodged between the Jersey barriers and the chain-link fence that borders the pedestrian path. Crews safely worked to remove the occupants.
At about 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, responders were dispatched to the Perdido Pass Bridge. When they arrived, fire and police personnel found two vehicles involved in the accident at the top of the span. One vehicle was traveling westbound when it crossed the median and struck an eastbound vehicle.

After the occupants were removed, emergency crews began sending patients to hospitals. One patient was transported by MedStar AirCare. Another patient was transported by Orange Beach Fire. Both were taken to area hospitals.
Two additional patients refused ambulance transport at the scene. No other information about their conditions has been released. Authorities did not say how many people were involved in the accident.
