City Closes Small Beach Section at Perdido Pass During Busy Spring Break Weeks
City leaders remind visitors that the coastal community is not a party destination.
Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Spring break season has arrived in Orange Beach, and city officials are reminding visitors of what the community values. Leaders emphasize that the coastal city is family-oriented and not a party town. They highlight that public safety remains a top priority. The message comes as large crowds are expected on local beaches.
City officials said the reminder is sent out each year as students travel to the Gulf Coast. They emphasized that underage drinking, illegal drug use, disorderly conduct, or any breach of peace will not be tolerated. Visitors are encouraged to respect one another and enjoy their time responsibly.
For public safety reasons, the city has closed a small section of beach at Alabama Point East near the Perdido Pass Bridge. The temporary closure will stay in effect through most of April during the peak of spring break travel. A map provided by the city shows the exact area affected.
Officials said the closed part of Perdido Pass has long been a popular spot for spring breakers. The closure aims to address safety concerns raised by the Orange Beach Police Department. By restricting access to that small area, officials hope to reduce crowding and prevent issues before they arise.
All other public-access beaches in Orange Beach remain open to residents and visitors. The city emphasized that only a small area near the Perdido Pass Bridge is affected. Most of Alabama Point East remains open, and parking in the area is still available.
City leaders also reminded beachgoers to help keep the shoreline clean during their visit. They encouraged everyone to follow local laws and show respect for the community. Officials said responsible behavior will help ensure a safe and enjoyable spring break season for all.
