Foley, Ala. — (OBA) — The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce is seeking an artist to create the official artwork for the 2027 Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival. The chamber announced a formal call for artists to submit original designs for the event's t-shirt and poster. The festival, which will mark its 23rd annual gathering, will be held in Foley, Alabama. Artists from across the region are encouraged to submit their designs.

The deadline for submissions is Thursday, October 1, 2026. Artists may deliver their work in person to the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce at 200 N. Alston St., Foley, AL 36535. Submissions may also be mailed to P.O. Box 1117, Foley, AL 36536. Questions and confirmations may be directed to Rachel Spear, Director of Events, at (251) 943-5550 or

The artwork must reflect the themes of hot air balloons, art, music, and the Gulf Coast. Each submission must include the words "23rd Annual Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival," the year 2027, and "Foley, AL." The final commissioned poster must not exceed 18 inches wide by 24 inches tall.

The chamber made it clear that only original, human-made artwork will be accepted. No AI-generated designs will be considered for the competition. The selected artist will be required to relinquish ownership of the artwork upon selection.

Once selected, the winning design becomes the sole property of the Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival and the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce. The chamber may use the artwork in any way it sees fit without providing any additional compensation to the artist. In return, the commissioned artist will receive a one-time payment of $500.

The Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival is one of the most well-known annual events in South Baldwin County. Each year, it draws visitors from across the Gulf Coast region. It celebrates art, music, and the area's unique culture. The 2027 event is expected to continue that tradition in Foley.

Artists interested in submitting their work are encouraged to contact the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce before the October deadline. The chamber looks forward to seeing creative contributions from the artist community. For more information, visit
