Bright’s Creek Seeks One-Year Extension After Postponement

City eyes new rules for vacation rental signs
Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – Developers at Bright’s Creek, a subdivision planned on 43 acres west of the Gulf Shores Sportsplex, will go back in front of the Gulf Shores Planning Commission seeking a one-year extension on their plans. The developers were first in front of the commission in August and again in September seeking the extension but were eventually denied. Plans call for a 76-home subdivision.
The commission will have a public hearing on the plan during its meeting on Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. in council chambers at city hall.
During the meeting, the commission will also discuss:
- Approving a site plan for Alamo Circle flex buildings for three office/warehouse buildings and one professional office building on Alamo Circle located east of State Route 59 and south of County Road 10.
- A request to approve a site plan for Ocean Blue Cottages to build seven units at 1127 W. Lagoon Avenue.
- Approving a preliminary subdivision plat for Raley Farms phases five and six containing 50 single-family residences.
- A request for the Edwin Oaks Subdivision’s plat to subdivide 2.47 acres into seven single-family residential lots. The property is west of Mo’s Landing Park on State Route 180 on the north bank of Little Lagoon.
- Changes to city ordinances concerning vacation rental signs in the city.
- Amending the ordinance requirements for public hearings and notices regarding subdivision regulations.
