Foley, Ala. — (OBA) —  A 39-year-old Mobile man allegedly faces a first-degree rape charge following an incident in Foley, Alabama. The Foley Police Department led the investigation after receiving a report from an adult victim. Detectives found probable cause to arrest the suspect. The case involved cooperation among multiple law enforcement agencies across two counties.

The incident allegedly occurred on August 28, 2026, when the victim reported meeting Tyrone Sykes of Mobile in a public location in the City of Foley. During the investigation, it was reported that a rape had occurred. Detectives worked quickly to build their case and identify Sykes as the suspect.

Once probable cause was established, the Foley Police Department shared information with local law enforcement agencies to help track Sykes. Officers narrowed his location to a residence in the 5400 block of Moffett Road in Mobile. The Mobile County Sheriff's Office and the Mobile Police Department both assisted in locating him at that address.

Sykes was taken into custody by the Mobile County Sheriff's Office without incident. He faces a charge of Rape in the First Degree. The Foley Police Department credited the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office, the Mobile County Sheriff's Office, and the Mobile Police Department for their assistance in the investigation.
