Boozy Bee Returns to Flora-Bama for Another Spirited Showdown
The annual spelling contest with a boozy twist takes place March 8 at the Flora-Bama Lounge.
Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — The Flora-Bama is once again hosting fun, drinks, and friendly competition at its annual Boozy Bee spelling contest. The popular Gulf Coast spot will hold the lighthearted event inside the Dome from 5 to 6 p.m. The Boozy Bee has become one of the bar’s most loved traditions, known for its playful mix of language and laughter.
The event is set for Sunday, March 8.
Unlike a traditional spelling contest, this event encourages contestants to relax with a drink while they spell tricky words on stage. Organizers say it’s designed to test both brainpower and humor. “Ten lucky contestants will be randomly chosen on the day of the event to compete in five rounds of lively spelling challenges,” the Flora-Bama team announced.
The competition is open to the public, but only individuals aged 21 and older can step up to the microphone. The last contestant remaining after five lively rounds will be crowned the Boozy Bee champion, earning not just bragging rights but also the admiration of a crowd known for its enthusiasm and energy.
Spectators are encouraged to come out and cheer for their favorite spellers while enjoying an evening of laughs and local flavor. Whether participants join for the challenge or the community spirit, the event promises plenty of entertainment and unforgettable moments along the Alabama-Florida line.
