Vendors Urged To Apply Soon For National Shrimp Festival

Shrimp Festival Vendor Deadline Approaches for 2026 Event

Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) — Vendors from across the country are running out of time to apply to participate in one of the Gulf Coast’s biggest events. The 53rd Annual National Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores is closing its vendor application window soon. Organizers say the popular event draws nearly 300 vendors each year. They expect strong interest again this fall as plans advance for another busy festival season.

Vendor applications are due by the end of the day on Friday, April 24, according to the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber. The festival is scheduled for October 8 through 11, 2026, in Gulf Shores. The multi-day event is widely promoted as “Alabama’s original beach party” and is known for its mix of food, art, music, and family activities.

“Shrimp Fest wouldn’t be what it is without the vendors who travel from across the country to be part of it,” said Ginny Barnas, co-chairman of the Annual National Shrimp Festival. “We look forward to welcoming another outstanding group to Gulf Shores this October.” Organizers say vendors are a key part of the festival’s long-running success and help shape visitors' experience.

Vendor categories include fine arts, arts and crafts, retail merchandise, food, and the children’s activity village. All applications undergo a juried selection process conducted by a volunteer committee. Festival leaders expect to finalize vendor selections by early June. They note that submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance, as space is limited and demand is high.

Founded in 1971, the National Shrimp Festival has become one of the Gulf Coast’s signature events. Organizers say it now draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and serves as a major economic driver for the region. The festival is organized by the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber and relies on a large volunteer base to sustain the tradition.

Attendees this fall can expect four days of food, art, live music, and other activities in Gulf Shores. The event’s leaders say they are preparing for another strong turnout from vendors and visitors alike. They describe the festival as a longstanding community celebration that showcases local culture while attracting guests from around the country.

Vendors interested in participating can find application details online. Organizers direct applicants to
