Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Everyone along the Gulf Coast is invited to a special day of excitement, giving, and community spirit. All of the area's badged first responders will be battling it out for the crowds. The Orange Beach Sportsplex will be the scene of a free family event packed with activities for all ages. Organizers hope the event will provide fun and raise support for next year’s USPCA Region 1 K-9 Trials. The gathering aims to bring together the local community for a good cause while highlighting the dedication of first responders and their K-9 partners.

This event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 4385 William Silvers Parkway in Orange Beach. Admission is free for everyone, though donations are welcomed to support the 2026 United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) Regional K-9 Trials scheduled for February 2026.

The event will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Local police, fire departments, and the Coastal Alabama Senior Softball League will take to the field for the popular Battle of the Badges softball matchups. Teams from Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, and Foley will compete, giving fans a chance to cheer for their favorite first responders.

Visitors can also watch live K-9 demonstrations to see the remarkable skills of working police dogs in action. Dogs and handlers will showcase their teamwork, discipline, and talents, helping the public better understand the important roles K-9s play in keeping the community safe. The event will also include a Home Run Derby for fans of softball.

A major highlight for animal lovers is the dog adoption event organized by Wags and Whiskers Rescue. Around 65 friendly dogs will be on-site, waiting for new homes. Families interested in adopting a pet will have the opportunity to meet the rescue pups. Dairy Queen will provide special Pup Cups for visiting dogs, making the event enjoyable for furry friends, too.

The day will feature a lineup of craft and business vendors, with vendor spots still available for interested local businesses and artists. Food trucks will be set up to serve various tasty bites. During the event, guests can meet and interact with local first responders and K-9 teams, helping foster connections within the community.

All friendly dogs are welcome to attend with their owners, as long as they are on a six-foot leash and are up-to-date on vaccinations. Event organizers encourage everyone to bring their families and their well-behaved dogs for a day of fun.

Anyone wanting additional information or interested in being a vendor can reach out to Beach Dog Events at
elyseevents7@gmail.com.

The event promises a day of friendly competition, joy, and giving. Organizers hope the community will show up in force to support the working dogs and officers who serve Orange Beach and neighboring areas.
