Baldwin County Reports 66 Miles Of Roads Resurfaced In 2025
Officials say the county maintains more than 1,400 miles of roadway infrastructure

Robertsdale, Ala. — (OBA) — Baldwin County leaders say drivers saw major road upgrades across the county last year. The work focused on resurfacing worn pavement and paving some dirt roads. Officials say the projects help protect roads people use every day. More work is planned.
The Baldwin County Commission reported that 66 miles of roads were resurfaced and 3 miles of dirt roads were paved across the county in 2025. Officials said the annual paving effort is key to preserving the county’s transportation network, which totals more than 1,400 miles of roadway infrastructure.
“We continuously invest in our transportation system to ensure residents have safe and reliable roadways, both now and into the future,” said District 1 Commissioner James “Jeb” Ball.
County leaders said the Commission awards multiple resurfacing contracts each year. Those projects are supplemented by in-house paving done by the Baldwin County Highway Department. The combined approach aims to meet future transportation needs while maintaining existing roads.
Planning for 2026 resurfacing projects is already underway, the Commission said. Paving activities are expected to continue throughout 2026 and beyond.
Baldwin County is also geographically large, covering about 2,027 square miles, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. With communities spread from the Mobile Bay area to the Gulf Coast, road conditions can vary. Officials said resurfacing and paving help keep routes dependable.
