America’s 250th Celebration at The Wharf

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) —  The Wharf and the City of Orange Beach are preparing to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a community event that brings residents and visitors together. The Independence Day Street Party will feature entertainment, activities, and family-friendly attractions. Organizers say the event will kick off a patriotic holiday weekend. The celebration is free and open to the public.

The Independence Day Street Party is scheduled for Thursday, July 2, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The event will be held on Main Street at The Wharf. The City of Orange Beach is presenting the event as part of the nationwide commemoration of the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Guests attending the celebration can enjoy a variety of attractions throughout the evening. Activities will include appearances by Lady Liberty and Uncle Sam, the Bubble Truck, a 360 photo experience, bounce houses, an inflatable obstacle course, camel and pony rides, face painting, and more.

“Summer celebrations at The Wharf are always special, and for America’s 250th, we’re pulling out all the stops,” said Lindsey Pearce, Special Events Coordinator + Community Partnerships at The Wharf. “With activities happening across Main Street and Portside, the evening is designed to build across the property before leading into the night’s featured fireworks display and drone show.”

Organizers said Main Street and Portside will be active throughout the evening. Visitors will find live music, games, interactive activities, roaming performers, and additional entertainment throughout the property. Guests are encouraged to explore both areas before the event’s nighttime finale.

Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon said the celebration reflects the community’s tradition of uniting people for memorable events.

“Orange Beach has always been a place where people gather to create lasting memories, and America’s 250th birthday gives us an extraordinary reason to do just that,” Kennon said. “We’re honored to partner with The Wharf on a celebration that showcases the spirit of our community and commemorates this historic moment for our nation.”

The holiday festivities will continue after the street party. Country artist Gavin Adcock is scheduled to perform at The Wharf Amphitheater on Friday, July 3. The annual Shark Run 5K will return on Saturday, July 4.

Visitors can also enjoy live performances throughout the weekend at Portside on Main as part of the Tee Off Turned Up music series. Organizers said the lineup of events is intended to provide entertainment for families, residents, and vacationers throughout the holiday weekend.

From patriotic activities and live music to shopping, dining, and entertainment, The Wharf will offer a variety of ways for guests to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary and the Independence Day holiday.
