Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) —  Gulf Shores City Schools and the City of Gulf Shores are preparing to open a brand-new high school. The school features state-of-the-art classrooms, advanced technology, and modern athletic and performing arts complexes. Community members, families, and students are invited to join the celebration. The event marks a significant step forward in the district's effort to provide top-quality learning environments.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Monday, August 10, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the new Gulf Shores High School, located at 21565 Coastal Gateway Boulevard. Attendees should enter the campus through the west entrance. Guided tours of the facility will be offered immediately after the ceremony.

In addition to the August 10 tours, the school will host "Tuesday Tours" every Tuesday throughout August. Community members who want to explore the campus on a different day can register online on the school tours webpage. These tours give families and residents a chance to see the new building up close.

School Board President Kevin Corcoran discussed what the new facility means for the community. "The building was thoughtfully designed to be a long-term community asset — one that fosters collaboration, creativity, and excellence," he said. His remarks reflected the careful planning behind the project.

Mayor Robert Craft also praised the new school and what it represents for the city. "This new high school represents our community's commitment to creating a world-class educational environment for our students," Craft said. Gulf Shores City Schools Superintendent Matt Akin credited the teachers, staff, and students as the driving force behind the project.
