UPDATE: Orange Beach Mako's Softball Team defeated the Pace Patriots at home in Orange Beach with a score of 4–2.

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Tonight, the Orange Beach Makos, currently ranked 7th nationally and 1st in Alabama Division 4A, are set to host the Pace Patriots from Florida, who are ranked 5th nationally and 1st in their district. Both teams have displayed exceptional performance early in the season. The Orange Beach Makos, have a 6-0 record, have shown a strong offense and defense, outscoring their opponents 56-7 in their games so far. The team's remarkable performance includes a significant win against Mobile Christian High School with a score of 9-1​​​​.


On the other side, the Pace Patriots have also had an impressive start to their season, maintaining an 8-0 record. Their ability to dominate in both home and away games, scoring 84 runs while only allowing 5, sets up an exciting encounter against the Makos. Their last game saw them victorious over Tate with an 8-1 score​​.


Both teams are entering this game with strong winning streaks, making it a critical point in their season. The Orange Beach Makos' roster, highlighted by sophomore Ava Hodo and junior K.G. Favors, a South Carolina commit, has shown significant depth. Hodo's performance with a .500 batting average and Favors' dual threat as a powerhouse both at the plate and in the circle have been key to their success​​.


This evening's games, starting with the JV at 5:00 PM followed by the Varsity at 7:00 PM, promise to deliver competitive and high-level softball action. The community and fans are encouraged to support the Makos in this home game as they face a formidable opponent in the Pace Patriots.
