Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Orange Beach residents will soon have the chance to safely dispose of unwanted materials during the city’s upcoming Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day. The event will help community members dispose of common household items that can be dangerous if thrown into regular trash. City officials encourage residents to help keep the environment clean and reduce safety risks. Only Orange Beach residents are allowed to participate.

The drop-off event will take place on Friday, February 6, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be held at the Wind and Water Learning Center, located at 26233 Canal Road in Orange Beach. Organizers say the effort helps prevent hazardous materials from entering local waterways or landfills.

Residents can drop off items such as tires, household paint, cooking oil, grease, and batteries. These materials can be harmful if not handled properly, underscoring the importance of the event as a service to the community. It also gives locals a safe and simple way to dispose of materials that often accumulate in garages and storage sheds.

According to city staff, events like this one support Orange Beach’s ongoing environmental goals. “We want to make it easy for residents to dispose of these items safely,” said a city representative. “It’s a small step that makes a big difference for our community and coastline.”
