Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — 1819 News will host an Orange Beach mayoral debate on August 12 at the Orange Beach Event Center (4671 Wharf Pkwy W, Orange Beach, AL).

The debate will include both candidates for mayor, Tony Kennon (incumbent) and Jeff Boyd (mayor pro-tem).

"I am grateful for 1819 News stepping up to the plate and hosting a debate with Jeff Poor as a neutral, fair moderator," said Boyd. "I'm excited that there's going to be a debate," Kennon said. "I know that 1819 News will do a good job and make it fair and unbiased. I am the most happy that the community of Orange Beach will be able to discern the differences between myself and my opponent."

A general reception and meet-and-greet will begin at 5:30 p.m.

The hour-long debate will begin at 7 p.m. with an introduction by 1819 News CEO Bryan Dawson. It will be moderated by 1819 News Editor-in-Chief Jeff Poor.
