Winter Tasting Series Returns At Tacky Jacks In Gulf Shores And Orange Beach

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Tacky Jacks is continuing its winter beer and wine tasting series along the waterfront in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. The events invite guests to sip and snack while learning about each drink. Organizers say the tastings are guided and designed to feel relaxed. Seating is limited, and reservations are required.

The series includes events on January 15, January 20, and January 29, as well as additional dates in February and March. The tastings are held at the Tacky Jacks Gulf Shores and Orange Beach locations. In Gulf Shores, events are planned for January 15, January 29, February 12, and March 5. In Orange Beach, events are scheduled for January 20, February 6, and March 3.

Wine tastings are led by Winston McQuitery of Alabama Crown Distributing. The wine events are described as beginner-friendly and meant to make wine “approachable and fun.” Each tasting features curated selections, pairings, and waterfront views.

New to this winter lineup is Tacky Jacks’ first guided craft beer tasting. The January 15 Gulf Shores event is presented in collaboration with Big Beach Brewing. The event will feature stories and insights from the brewmaster, highlighting local craft beers and the inspiration behind each pour.

Each tasting includes four craft beers or wine selections paired with four small bites. A new menu is offered each month. Guests are guided through flavor profiles, regional origins, and the stories behind each selection, according to the announcement. Each event follows the same guided format while offering new selections and pairings.

Tickets cost $40 per person. A $5 reservation deposit is required to hold each seat; it will be applied to the final bill at checkout. Refunds are available with at least 24 hours’ notice. All attendees must be 21 or older.

Events may be hosted indoors or outdoors along the waterfront, weather permitting. Organizers encourage early reservations because seating is limited and groups may be harder to accommodate at the last minute. Guests are also encouraged to arrive early so the first pour begins on time.

“We want our guests to feel comfortable, relaxed, and inspired,” said Susan Sizemore with Tacky Jacks. “These tastings are all about learning in a fun, approachable way — and we’re especially excited to host our first beer tasting at our Gulf Shores location in collaboration with Big Beach Brewing. It’s a great way to celebrate local flavors while enjoying delicious food, great drinks, and unbeatable waterfront views.”
