Gulf Shores to Consider 2027 Transportation Plan and Retiree Bonus
The council will vote on infrastructure plans, retiree longevity bonuses, and staffing updates.
Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) — Gulf Shores City Leaders are considering key infrastructure and workforce investments, including the adoption of the city’s 2027 Transportation Plan and a one-time lump-sum bonus for eligible municipal retirees.
The regular council meeting will be held this afternoon, Mon, Aug 24, 2026, at 4 PM in Gulf Shores City Hall's Council Chambers. Pastor Larry Wood of Saint Andrew By The Sea will deliver the invocation.
Council members will also review an amendment to the lease agreement with ALDOT for the Canal Park Boat Launch. The agenda also includes workforce updates, such as a pay adjustment request for Gulf Shores Fire Rescue, position reclassifications, and recruitment services.
During the meeting, the council will also:
- Approve minutes from the Aug 10, 2026, regular council meeting and the Aug 17, 2026, council work session.
- Review and approve expense vouchers for municipal operations.
- Vote on a board appointment for Pitts to the Building Board of Adjustments & Appeals.
- Consider a resolution to authorize street acceptance for The Villages at Craft Farms Phases 1 & 2.
- Adopt the FY2027 Transportation Plan for the city.
- Consider reclassifying municipal positions and creating a new city position.
- Authorize professional services contracts for recruiting services with Next Move Group, LLC, and Find Great People.
- Review an ordinance to amend the city code regarding speed limits.
