Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The City of Orange Beach has announced closures and schedule adjustments in response to a winter storm warning. City offices will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, prioritizing employee safety. Essential services will continue, and decisions about Thursday's operations will follow later updates.

The Orange Beach City Council meeting, originally planned for Tuesday, January 21, is rescheduled for 5 p.m. on January 28. Orange Beach City Schools will transition to virtual learning Tuesday and will close Wednesday. Plans for in-person instruction depend on weather and road safety.

Trash and recycling services will be impacted. Republic Services will suspend collections on Tuesday and Wednesday. Recycling will resume Thursday, and trash pickups are rescheduled for Saturday.

Public restrooms at local parks, trails, and other facilities will be closed until at least January 23. City staff are monitoring conditions to reopen these amenities promptly.

Residents and visitors in need of warmth can visit a Safer Place shelter at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, located at 506 N. Pine Street in Foley. The shelter will remain open through Wednesday at noon. For assistance, call 251-256-8202.
