The commission will also take up a warehouse site plan, a lot subdivision, and a water treatment facility permit.
Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – One month after considering requests for 256 new residences in Gulf Shores, the planning commission’s May meeting is scheduled to address requests for 107 more. These two items include the Water Oaks subdivision, located south of Fort Morgan Road, and Osprey Landing, located on the growing thoroughfare of Coastal Gateway Boulevard.
The commission will meet on May 27 at 4 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall.
The Osprey Landing developers are looking for approval of a 42-lot subdivision for single-family residences. On the Water Oaks plan, developers plan to build 65 houses on a 40-acre parcel between Middle Brigadoon Trail and West Brigadoon Trail south of Fort Morgan Road.
In April, the commission discussed a 116-lot townhome subdivision located north of West 34th Avenue and west of State Route 59, a 76-lot subdivision called Bright’s Creek north of Oak Road West and west of the Gulf Shores Sportsplex, and a 40-lot townhome subdivision on Oyster Bay Lane. The planning commission gave favorable recommendations on all three projects.

- A site plan for an 8,400-square-foot warehouse on Northshore Street or north of West 36th Avenue and west of State Route 59.
- A request to subdivide three lots on Sunrise Drive into four lots. Sunrise Drive is located on the south shore of Little Lagoon and north of Windmill Ridge Drive.
