S'mores on the Shore Happening in August

Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) —  The City of Gulf Shores is bringing back one of its most popular summer traditions. S'mores on the Shore is set for Thursday, August 6, at Gulf Place, 101 Gulf Shores Parkway. The event will kick off at 6 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Families, residents, and visitors are all welcome to attend.

The event will take place on August 6, 2026, at the Gulf Shores Public Beach. Attendees can expect a wide range of free activities throughout the evening. On-site, free s'mores packets, a live DJ, a balloon artist, and face painting will be available. Wheeles Realty will also be on hand, providing free fresh watermelon for guests to enjoy.

Local organizations and vendors will also be at the event. The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism, and the Gulf Shores Police Department K9 Division are expected to participate. The Hog Wild food truck and the Lions Club will also be on-site for guests who wish to purchase food. Families are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and friends to enjoy the evening on the sand.

Recreation & Cultural Affairs Director Grant Brown spoke about the event's lasting appeal. "We started S'mores on the Shore in 2010, and it quickly became a fan-favorite amongst our residents and guests," Brown said. "It's the perfect event for families of all ages who are looking for a little free fun and excitement." He added, "When you combine our beautiful beaches, music, campfires, and s'mores, it really does make for an incredible night."

The event has drawn crowds to the Gulf Shores Public Beach for more than 15 years. City officials say the goal has always been to offer a free, enjoyable night out for people of all ages. The combination of beach scenery, live entertainment, and community vendors has kept the event strong each year. It remains one of the most anticipated summer gatherings on the Alabama Gulf Coast.
